I quickly whipped up a batch of Devil’s Chocolate Cupcakes with Real Vanilla Bean Frosting last night for E’s going away.

Though it took me a few trial-and-error-s in the past to get the flavour balance just right, putting the cakes together last night was really quick and simple with no drama.

With chocolate and vanilla being around all year long, I thought it would be an idea to include these cakes as part of my staple ongoing menu for Cinnamon Spoon.  Which got me thinking – what other all-seasonal flavours of mass appeal can I include in my recipes so lucky Aucklanders can enjoy them all year round?
